During our recent trip to the United States, we deepened our understanding of Henry Evans, who has been working on Robots for Humanity since 2010, developing a vision centered on using robotics to meaningfully improve people’s lives, especially those facing severe physical challenges. Although we did not meet him in person, we explored his story, his work, and the profound purpose that has guided him for years.
Henry Evans is a global reference in the use of robotics as a tool to enhance the quality of life for people with significant disabilities. After suffering a stroke that left him quadriplegic and unable to speak, Henry transformed his situation into a mission: demonstrating how technology can restore autonomy, dignity, and real possibilities to those facing extreme physical limitations.
Through pioneering collaborations with researchers from institutions such as Georgia Tech and Willow Garage, Henry helped drive the development and testing of assistive robots including the PR2 and other advanced robotic platforms to perform everyday tasks many take for granted. His public demonstrations and partnerships inspired engineers, entrepreneurs, and academics to rethink the purpose of robotics from a deeply human perspective.
His initiative, Robots for Humanity, became a symbol of how robotics can generate tangible social impact not only in industrial settings, but in the daily lives of millions of people. Henry not only showed what technology can do today, but what it can unlock in the future: a world where robotic assistance expands human autonomy, reduces barriers, and enables new forms of inclusion.
Understanding his journey and impact led us to reflect deeply on the path we are building. From the beginning, our mission has been to develop technology that empowers people, expands human capabilities, and opens new opportunities for society. Today, that mission evolves.
This is why we have decided to change our name to Humanoids for Humanity.
The world is entering a new era driven by humanoid robots and Physical AI systems capable of transforming entire industries. We firmly believe this technology does not come to replace people, but to enhance human potential, solve challenges that have long constrained society, and reshape the global economy.
Our vision is rooted in a simple principle:
humanoids are a tool for humanity.
The new name reflects this vision more accurately. It is not just about robots; it is about building a future where advanced automation enables people to dedicate their time and talent to safer, more creative, and more meaningful work. A future where these systems integrate responsibly to solve real-world problems.
At Humanoids for Humanity, we remain committed to the same mission:
to train, deploy, and operate humanoid robots in industrial and professional environments, leveraging advanced simulation, behavioral models, and the most powerful technologies available. Now more aligned than ever with our purpose and the impact we aim to create.
This name change marks the beginning of a broader, more ambitious, and more transformative chapter.
Welcome to Humanoids for Humanity.
The next technological revolution will be profoundly human.
